We are sorry, but KWK Designs is no longer in business.
Welcome to KWK Designs unique cloth doll patterns.
About The Designer
Kimberly has been sewing and creating cloth dolls for about seven years now, and has just recently began publishing her cloth doll patterns.
She has been featured in The Cloth Doll magazine, which she also contributes informative articles on "Displays and Accessories", and will begin a new column this summer which will be dedicated to teaching the art of "Painted Dolls"
One of her most recent designs "Desert Rose" was featured in the March 1997 issue of Doll World magazine.
While her current pattern designs are mainly designed for the doll crafter who enjoys the look of Southwestern and Country FolkArt, she will begin work on other styles of interest very soon.
Enjoy your visit, and if you have any further questions about the designer, her techniques, or just want to say "hello", please send an e-mail!!
About The Patterns
Each pattern
has been designed with the begining doll crafter in mind. What does this
mean? Very clear illustrations and in-depth, step-by-step instructions.
All dolls are designed to be
created from muslin, broadcloth, or 100% cotton.
Full-size patterns ready to cut
and sew. No enlarging or adding seam allowances required. (Note: occasionally,
there will be the inclusion of a template pattern piece, such as for an "arm".
These are only included when I feel that the use of a template will allow
for better definition within a particular area, such as a "thumb").
Painting instructions will teach
you how-to, simply and quickly, paint the "skintone" of a doll. I urge any
doll crafter to try this technique at least once. You will find this technique
to be very rewarding and fun! Even if you have never painted before,
you will achieve wonderful results with this technique. And for those who
may still be a little timid, non-painted instructions have also been provided
when applicable. Please refer to particular pattern of interest to see if
this option is available.
Instructions, patterns, and how-tos
for creating accessories and displays for each doll from a variety of crafting
mediums, such as wood, wire, and brown paper.
All patterns are printed on 8
1/2" x 11" paper. This format has been chosen for several reasons:
1.) No fumbling with large fold out sheets trying to find a specific step
or illustration
2.) Provides the option of storing the pattern in notebook form
3.) You can easily copy the original pattern (for personal use only) to preserve
the original
Though all patterns are copyrighted,
you have permission to sell dolls made from my patterns at local craft stores,
shows, etc.
All patterns are shipped within
two days after receiving order and are mailed first class.
