Jo Ann Burton is an accomplished poet who has had many of her poems published. She has received numerous Editor's Choices awards, was nominated "Poet of the Year" by the International Society of Poets in 1996, and has now been elected into The International Poetry Hall of Fame by The National Library of Poetry.

Her poem, "Who Gives This Woman" was written for her daughter and her daughter's new husband. It expresses the bond and love a mother and daughter share as the mother entrusts her new "son" with the most precious gift, her daughter.

"Into The Light" was written as she looked over her life, congratulating herself on a job well-done, and then realized that she hadn't done it by herself after all.
