Our beautiful hanging racks are first quality reproductions of the antique school cloakroom racks that were made from the 1890s to 1946. Our iron castings are made from patterns and molds from original antique pieces. Each rack is lovingly handmade, one at a time, in our shop which overlooks the west fork of the Millicoma River in the forests of Allegany, Oregon. We are the only people on the planet making these racks today.

While originally intended for hanging coats, hats, and umbrellas, our racks are now found just as often in the kitchen displaying quality cookware and dried herbs or in the tack room or family room displaying equestrian gear, fishing equipment, guns, hanging plants, or whatever.

Our iron pieces are blued, which gives them a satin black appearance, then they are sealed. Colored finishes may be available on request. We use custom-made doweling made from the finest oak, which is finished in two coats of hand-rubbed danish oil (natural, light walnut, and dark walnut finishes available) with a wax sealer. Other woods include pine or myrtlewood (which only grows on the south Oregon coast) in a natural danish oil/waxed sealer finish. Additional woods, custom lengths, and custom finishes available by request.

Incredibly strong and designed to last, our racks will be handed down through families for generations, and they are indistinguishable from antique pieces that are nearly impossible to find and extremely expensive.

Standard Hanging Rack

This beautiful rack can be used as a coat rack, pot rack, or to hang up anything that you want to display beautifully. The racks can be hung in their original configuration (as in photo on left) or inverted for a coat rack (as in photo on right) for a look that many prefer. When ordering, please specify which configuration you want and if you will be using the rack as a pot rack (we make minor modifications so that modern cookware slips on easily). Also, please specify what type of wood and the finish desired.

Measures 36" x 16" x 12" (custom lengths available)

$175 plus $20s&h

Quilt Rack

This fine, wall-hung quilt rack is hung inverted to display quilts, Indian blankets, lace, fabrics or whatever you desire to showcase. Available in the same woods and finishes as the Standard Hanging Rack above. Custom finishes and lengths available.

$110 plus $15 s&h

Ceiling Hung Double Rack

This rack was originally custom designed for the owner of a fine restaurant and the design has become popular for people that want a hanging pot rack but don't want the same mass-produced iron or steel racks that have become so common. This beautiful rack is made to hang over a kitchen island or counter (though one customer ordered two to hang plants on in her solarium!) and can hold more items than you can imagine. Available in the same woods and finishes as the Standard Hanging Rack, this rack is incredibly striking and makes a real statement about the quality of the kitchens where it is used. Our retailers this rack for up to $800, but you can order it directly from us at a fraction of the cost. Size is 36"l x 22"h x 25"wide. Custom lengths are available.

$390 plus $35 s&h

Also available, but not shown, are kits for those that want to make their own quilt of standard racks (sorry, kits for double racks are not available). The kits include all the iron pieces, screws, easy-to-follow illustrated assembly instructions, and template paper to make hanging racks or quilt racks up to 5 feet long. Just add your own hardwood dowels or fir closet rods for a project you will always be proud of. Call our office for details or to order.
